Send off...

C'est finis!!! Doesn't it just look delicious? Makes me smile every single time I look at it. But, sadly, today's the day I must send it away. I will miss you, you fabulous, sumptuous duvet in blue with coordinating pillows. Oh how I will miss you.

Here's the pillows all in a cute little row. Aren't the pretty. I really do love them.
This is the back of the pillow covers with their hidden snap closures.
And here's my handiwork...
And these are the buttons I decided to use for the duvet. I tried to find cherries, but no such luck. I do like these, though. Very bright and cheery.

Pillows!

So here are some of the pillows (3 of the 4) that I made to go with the "Duvet in Blue" below. The customer that I made the duvet for loved it so much she wanted me to make pillows with any leftover scraps that I had (Thanks Crystal! I appreciate the business! I love them. They are so fun and funky. I bought some cotton that matched the back panel of the duvet cover and used that for the backs of the pillows as well. These babies are bigins! There are 2 20 inchers and 2 24 inchers. The covers are removable and close with some hidden snaps. I also used a yellow-gold (Spark Gold actually!) thread to accent the Social Climber (Gold) fabric. I think they turned out well. I will have more pics to follow with all the details and stuff, I just wanted to get some new pictures up here. I've been busy! Haven't had that much time to update the blog with all my progress...
Don't worry, this pillow wasn't finished when I snapped the picture! I just laid the front of the cover over a pillow so you could get the idea. It's finished now however, but the hubby's got my camera in the car, so completed pics will have to wait.

This is one of my favorites. It reminds me of stained glass a little bit.

Let me know what you think!!!!

Duvet in Blue, Fabulous :)

....and Voila!
My bid was accepted on Etsy to make this *sumptuous* duvet cover....and I LOVE it. I don't want to send it away. It's just so fun to look at. It's gorgeous! This is just the top, however. I haven't completely finished it. But I'm pretty sure I will have it all duvet-ed up by the weekend! Here are a few more pictures for you do drool over :)

Basically the design of this quilt is 4 21" patchwork-ish sections divided by 3 horizontal yellow strips of fabrics to make up a finished size of 68"x86".
To be honest, I only submitted my bid because the fellow etsian posted the need for a "Duvet in Blue, Fabulous". I thought she sounded fun, so I clicked and read on. "*Sumptuous* duvet cover needed for an amorphous blob". ..My heart skipped a beat. "I like her words" I said to myself! I bet if she lived by me we would have somehow been friends :) At least I like to think so...

Anyway, I've also been working on this:
It totally does not seem finished to me. I thought it was. But not anymore. I'm indifferent. It's not just the wrinkles either- it has been in the corner for a week or so, just waiting to be worked on...

You know what this is- a perfect opportunity to make a trip to the fabric store! Yay! I knew this quilt top would be good for something :) I will be updating more frequently, by the way. I had a superbusy week, but now I'm on the sewing prowl!
